About Connie Mulqueen: Writer | Screenwriter
For as long as I can remember, I've been fascinated by people and the stories that define their lives.
That fascination first led me into journalism, where I spent a decade as a newspaper reporter, copy editor, and magazine editor learning how to listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, and uncover the story beneath the facts.
An idealist by nature, I've always been drawn to organizations whose work has the potential to improve people's lives. That path led me into healthcare, where I spent more than two decades writing for companies tackling some of the industry's biggest challenges – from the rise of chronic disease and obesity to advances in healthcare technology.
I began my marketing career as a senior writer and eventually became a director of content marketing, partnering closely with executive leadership to shape thought leadership, brand messaging strategy, and educational content. More than anything, I love translating complex ideas into clear, engaging stories that help people better understand both the problems being solved and the impact those solutions can have.
Today, that same curiosity finds its fullest expression in screenwriting – a creative pursuit I've long hoped to make a central part of my life.
In my creative work, I'm drawn to stories of transformation – the quiet moments that alter the course of a life, the beliefs we inherit that shape how we see ourselves and the world, the identities we cling to, and the unexpected ways people discover who they really are.
Again and again, my stories explore questions of belonging, authenticity, freedom, and meaning because those are the questions that continue to fascinate me as both a writer and a human being.
When I'm not writing, you'll usually find me reading, watching films, practicing yoga, spending time with my cats, or dreaming up the next story that refuses to leave me alone.
Whether I'm writing for an organization, developing a screenplay, or simply listening to someone's story, I'm guided by the same hope – that thoughtful words can deepen understanding, foster compassion, and help move people and the world, however modestly, in a better direction.
More than anything, I love translating complex ideas into clear, engaging stories that help people better understand both the problems being solved and the impact those solutions can have.
